I know I have been away for a while, besides the other day! I have been out of work for a few months and rethinking my life a bit, and wondering what to do with myself, while looking for work on many online job boards.

 Hello! 

I was checking my website on a host supplier! And I noticed views on an old one(domain/host) I had neglected for quite some time, and asked myself, "why is this one getting more views?" And low and behold, it's linked to this blog, which has also been sorely neglected for even longer! So long so, that I forgot even when I had placed my blog link on that site. 

Well a lot has happened!

Going back to my last post HERE in 2021! 😂 

I did an online course to learn Classic lash extensions. And then I got my certificate, and posted that. Since then, I have been at 3 different places to work at(doing hair only) and Well in-between jobs a few times I also ended up at a Walmart for a few months as a cashier! I ended up developing Tendonitis as a cashier ..Not as a hairstylist...Which I found extremely odd. I left Walmart for a hairstylist job, was there for about 2 years, left for a better paying job ...

Oh I am getting a head of myself, while I was at the job after walmart, I went back to school for a few months for Lashes and Brows, became certified AND Licensed! So I can do both professions Legally. 

Then the better paying job, that also had the opportunity of doing all the services I am trained/licensed in. I was laid off there after a few months, was out of work for a few weeks, and got another job somewhere else. With little pay/full time hours on commission, commission is only good if you are BUSY, which I was not, and I will tell you, working full time hours with not being busy = very low pay. So work 30-35 hours per week and if you don't sell products nor do any services, you have little to no pay. Finshed there.

That was 3 months ago, and I am still looking for work. And we're back to today. That was short and sweet, I thought it would have been a longer post, I guess that's it for now! Hopefully I don't get neglectful again and leave this behind for more years.

The Classic Lash extension course, updates!

I also bought a few things to test out from Aliexpress until I can actually go pro in my city, I still need my license, but I am still waiting for the classes to open back up again at the cosmetology school I want to apply to! Updates on food sub box and lash practice

 Hello everyone, I am posting later today. 

Here is an update from my previous post about the food subscription box. It was pretty good, definitely different then my usual choices to eat. I had never had Orzotta before, so that was quite different, but if I had to describe it, I would say it looks like rice, but taste similar to a half cooked noodle, like macaroni or something. I really enjoyed it! I added some of my own cheese as well, I like using marble cheese, and pared it with their crumbled feta. Sorry I didn't get any photos of the contents like I did before, I was just trying to get the food done asap. I only remember just before I was eating it. I am also not used to taking food pics.

Here is some practice work for my lash extensions course. I am slowly getting a little better. I need to work more on my placement and glue. You can see what I mean in the photos, it's a bit messy and not lined up very well, this is both 1st and second attempt strips.

It's surprisingly hard to get photo's of the lashes, sorry about that. I feel like the second attempt you can tell I did get somewhat better and the lashes are much more full.

Update on my meal subscription boxes!

 Chefs plate is so yummy! Here are some pictures of what I have had so far! I have gotten boxes from 2 separate weeks! I chose the 2 meal and 2 portion option. It is just my son and I here so that was enough. There was plenty for us in each meal, I even had extra to eat later as left overs.

First week, sorry I forgot to get photos of the first meal we had, it was good the "English beef cottage pie" I did change it a bit to suit my own preferences, the meat recommended putting oil, I didn't add any and it called for some of the potato water to be saved, if I were to get that again I would do that either!

 

Second week - Was super delicious!  Tomorrow I am making the next meal from the second week and will get photos to update here!

Some updates!

 Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

I applied to a course online, it's a classic eyelash extension course! I am kind of excited, I was discouraged at first. If you are not required to have physical training in a school nor a license here is the link to the online course, it's legit and very hands on, you also have to be tested and send in photos of your work to be tested!

I found out that my province doesn't accept online certifications for any cosmetology services. So I am planning to go back to beauty school and take a Makeup and Classic Eyelash Extension course in a physical school, and to get Certified as well as pass a provincial exam for a professional license to work, as that is required to be able to offer the services professionally where I am located and in my Province. 

I will keep you updated on this in the future, but for now I will resume my regular blogging posts. Motivational Monday blogs will resume next week, I was just too excited to not sure this information! For now I have to  get accepted at the school of my choice and get accepted for the student loan! I will keep you posted as things happen!

I don't care how confident you are, please do not use professional eyelash extension adhesives/glues on yourself, you could cause  blindness, they have strong fumes so the eyes must be fully closed so it doesn't seep into the eye lids to the eye ball, you could also risk getting the product itself in your eyeball. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT on yourself, I might not be a professional eyelash tech yet, but I know enough to know it is very harmful to attempt on yourself.

Motivational Monday! March/8/2021

 

Hello everyone, how is you week going?

Have you motivated yourself daily? 

Have you found or created an affirmation/self motivating quote?

Do you have a goals check list for your future to help you stay focused?

My last Motivational Monday(last week March/1/2021) was explaining a little bit about visions boards, have you created one or put anything ideas in place to create one?

What do you feel you are slacking on, or lacking to motivate you? Try focusing on those things.

Set little reminders if you need those in place to help motivate you and give you a specific thing(s) to focus on.

If your list is super long(in your eyes) then pick one thing at a time, give yourself the time you feel you need to get all of them each. Over time you will start to develop a habit of doing the things if you set a reminder/schedule for them. Feel free to do the ones most important to you 1st! Even if it takes you a year or more to have some of them met and or completed, be gentle with yourself and accept that not all things happen over night and that that is okay! 

It's okay if you take longer than others, as long as you complete what you have chosen to focus on that positively will motivate you for your future! 

Love yourself! It's okay to be a little selfish at times, it will keep you in charge of yourself and what you need. Yes being there for others counts, but what would they(family/children/lover) have if not for you? You MUST make a YOU time! Even if it's only for an hour or 2 a DAY! It's important! You are important, and are worthy of giving yourself some you time daily!

Whatever form of self care you need, take the time each day to have that time!

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? How has life been treating you!? I hope all is well and you have moments in each day that you appreciate!

Have you heard of a vision board?

A vision board is a collage of things you want to achieve in your future. You can get images from the internet and print them out, or you can find images in magazines!

Some ideas of subjects can be:

A car similar to what you want.

A heart if you hope you find love.

A graduation cap, if you choose you want to higher your education.

A pot of gold, if you are wishing to have more money in your future, money can be a struggle for many.

A house

You can paste words/quotes here and there t focus on:

Love

Happy

"You're great"

"You're worth it"

Luck

Things like that are a good start, I have used a few of those for my own. I put mine on a square of Bristol board, I cut to a size I wanted because they can be quite large. I used to have a vision board on my computer, but I found I didn't have it in view to focus on during the day, I would have to pull it up and that become forgotten over time! It's pretty hard to keep things always in focus if you don't have it in full view all the time, you know? 

If you would like more ideas there are plenty online, but I recommend starting with a list of your wants written in a journal or note book and looking for images that come to mind when you read those goals/wants.
